Bookplate on upper pastedown of copy [B] reads: "From the Library of Anne Renier and F.G. Renier."
Copies [A], [B] and [C] bound in dark green cloth with bevelled boards. Copy [A] is morocco grain and copies [B] and [C] sand grain. Black panel stamped ornate border and gilt illustration of an open book held by animals containing the title. Author underneath also in gilt. Lower cover: border in blind. Spine: title and author in gold reading up between two sets of black lines. Endpapers dark brown.
Copy [B] acquired by the Reniers in May 1958 from Cursitor.
Copy [B] donated by Anne Renier and F.G. Renier.
Copy [B] initialled in ink "AR" (ie. Anne Renier) on lower endpaper.
Half title.
Illustrated throughout with wood-engravings, may be line-blocks, some plates with the signatures of Griset and Swain. Includes a frontispiece.
