love a book with a strong, smart, fallible heroine, so I immediately fell for Over You by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus. We have Max, who has started a business to help girls get over their broken hearts called Ex, Inc. Max is young enough to still think she knows everything and old enough to be able to give girls some excellent advice and ways to recover from a breakup. As a matter of fact, Max seems a little too self-confident and clever until she bumps into, wait for it… her ex. Then, we get to see a different side of this stylish entrepreneur, and it gets messy. Suddenly, all bets are off as Max tries to reconcile the woman she is trying to become with the girl who was crying into her cereal just a year earlier. Readers who love to see the mighty fall and pick themselves back up again will enjoy this book. And as a small town reviewer I found it fun to see Max navigate the big city of New York with such finesse. The characters are colorful and lively even if they seem a little too good to be true. I highly recommend you jump right into Over You!
