Individuals represented, 1679-1962, include Jacobus Roosevelt, Isaac (I) Roosevelt, James (I) Roosevelt, Isaac (II) Roosevelt, James (II) Roosevelt, Rebecca Brien Howland Roosevelt, Sara Delano Roosevelt, James Roosevelt Roosevelt, John Aspinwall Roosevelt, Hall Roosevelt, and Helen Roosevelt Robinson. Subjects include New York City real estate in the 18th century, the sugar refining mill established by Isaac (I), trade with the Thomas Hunt family in Bermuda in the 18th century, family estates in the Hudson Valley, railroad business affairs, education, the diplomatic service of James Roosevelt Roosevelt in Vienna and London, 1888-1896, philanthropic activities, ice-yachting, household management, trips to Europe, and family affairs. Also, diaries kept by Rebecca Brien Howland Roosevelt, 1867-1875; Sara Delano Roosevelt, 1880-1941; James Roosevelt Roosevelt, 1866-1867; Mary Rebecca Aspinwall (Mrs. Isaac Roosevelt), 1868-1870; and Louisa E.
