Also include miscellaneous correspondence, 1805-1875, of the Bumgardner family, regarding family and financial matters, social life, and business matters of the family-owned distillery, J. Bumgardner Distillery Co., later called J. Bumgardner & Sons.

Correspondents include Christian Bumgardner, Jacob Bumgardner (1767-1857), Jacob Bumgardner (1789-1840), James Bumgardner (1801-1890), James Bumgardner (1835-1917), John Bumgardner, and William Bumgardner.

Also include account book, 1858-1864, of James Bumgardner's accounts with the Valley Bank of Staunton; and muster roll, 1778, of the Ninth Virginia Regiment of the Continental Army, commanded by Burgess Ball.
