DeBerniere; Shackleford family papers (1819-1887); estate and family papers (1787-1880s) of U.S. Supreme Court justice William Johnson (1734-1824) and other members of his family; brokerage account books (1865-1874) reflecting trading in corporate and municipal bonds; and genealogical notes for the DeBerniere, Ford, Franklin, McCrady, and Shackleford families. Other persons represented include Louis Agassiz, Ellison Capers, Thomas F. Davis, W.B.W. Howe, A. Toomer Porter, J.J. Pringle Smith, George Trescot, and William H. Trescot.
