Correspondence relating to national and state politics, Republican Party, newspapers, postal service, and Holloway's family; records (1881-1886) of Indianapolis Times, which Holloway owned and founded; records (1865-1880) of Indianapolis Post Office during the period Holloway served as city postmaster; papers and letter book of Indianapolis Cable Street Railway Company; personal business papers, including papers (1863-1864) relating to his investments in whiskey and farm produce in New York, N.Y.; and letters of recommendation relating to Holloway's efforts to obtain a position in the federal government; together with papers of Oliver P. Morton (1823-1877), including personal and political correspondence; speech notes; scrapbook containing proclamations issued as governor of Indiana; letters of condolence sent to his family on his death; letters regarding William Dudley Foulke's biography of Morton; and papers of Morton's law office relating to Chicago and Atlantic Railroad Company.
