Includes letterbook, 1853 July 16-October 17, of Richmond, Va., and Washington, D.C., attorney Conway Robinson (kept while traveling in Belgium, England, France, Germany, and Switzerland) and correspondence, 1836-1881 (concerning, in part, the death of his son, Cary Robinson, while fighting for the Confederacy).

Also, include correspondence, 1863-1864, of Conway Robinson's wife Mary Susan Selden (Leigh) Robinson concerning family life and, in part, the death of Cary Robinson.

Also, include correspondence, 1864, of Conway's brother Moncure Robinson with his sister Octavia (Robinson) Haxall concerning their brother.

Also, include correspondence, 1863-1864, of Robert E. Lee with Louisa Triplett (Haxall) Harrison, and Cary Robinson concerning a furlough granted to Robinson from the Confederate States Army of Northern Virginia.
