Papers relating chiefly to Jenckes's career as U.S. representative (1933-1939), including correspondence, reports, and other papers, relating to agricultural waste recovery and other efforts to help farmers during the depression, flood control on the Wabash and White rivers, railroads, women's rights, education, and communists in America, particularly Jenckes's opposition to communist radio broadcasts; together with political correspondence (1938-1940), papers relating to political campaigns (1934-1938), newspaper clippings (1932-1949) relating chiefly to politics, and papers relating to a meeting (1937) of the Inter-parliamentary Union which Jenckes attended. Correspondents include J. Edgar Hoover, Louis M. Howe, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Franklin D. Roosevelt.
