Topics in his writings include family violence, homosexuality, and the lives of young boys.

Addition (03-041)(3150 items, 5 lin. ft.; dated 1977-2002 and n.d.) consists primarily of annotated typescripts, drafts and galleys of Grimsley's latest publications (including novels and plays), and provides an in-depth look at his recent work. Also includes personal correspondence (1982-2001); a journal and appointment books (1977-[1980s]); translations of his novels; and periodicals with his contributions.
