Letters, 1841-1894, of Judge Victor Clay Barringer chiefly to his brothers Rufus Barringer and Daniel Moreau Barringer. The majority concern his service on the International Court of Appeals, Alexandria Egypt, 1874-94. Especially interesting are earlier letters describing a speech by Daniel Webster and a trial of rioters in Concord, N.C. during Reconstruction. The collection also contains a volume of his speeches and some lecture notes.
