Letters to family, friends, fellow authors and acquaintances discuss her work and that of other authors particularly James Parton's biography of Aaron Burr, and an article by de Sismondi which she translated.
She searches for positions for two European exiles, offers encouragement to people in adversity, deems the reading material donated to Union soldiers as too philosophical, relates an anecdote about her father during Shay's rebellion, and declares her preference for Irish Protestant maids over Irish Catholics. There are also several social notes and one discussing finances.
An 1801 letter from Theodore Sedgwick sends greetings to his family.
The collection also contains two engravings of her after portraits by Charles Ingham.
