Abstract:

The collection contains the manuscripts for the novels "Agnes Surriage," "The Merrikids," "Nimport," and "Zachary Phipps," together with with manuscripts for several stories and an essay.

Correspondence of Bynner includes a reply to an autograph hunter, a complaint about books given him to review, and discussions of publication matters including a detailed letter of rejection from Horace E. Scudder for the "Atlantic Monthly" and an exchange with "A. B. Storey" of Harper's Young People concerning his novel "The Merrikids."

Correspondents include [Emily Elizabeth?] Dickinson, Elbridge Henry Goss, James Means, Horace Elisha Scudder, and A.B. Storey.
