Correspondence, diaries, speeches, subject files, business and financial papers, printed materials, photographs, and other papers reflecting many aspects of the Roosevelts' social, personal, and business activities. Topics include Kermit Roosevelt's years at Groton School; 1909 hunting trip to Africa with his father, President Theodore Roosevelt, and 1925 hunting expedition to Central Asia and India; shipping concerns, especially Kerr Steamship Company, Roosevelt Steamship Company, and United States Lines Company; and Belle Roosevelt's conversations with President Franklin D. and Eleanor Roosevelt during World War II.

Other topics include World War I; political and economic conditions in the Philippines and Puerto Rico (1920s-1930s); British politics and business activities relating chiefly to colonial interests in the Middle East (1920s-1930s); operation of Young America Wants to Help during World War II; the Maritime Commission's wartime lease of the Roosevelt home in Oyster Bay, N.Y.; the 1944 presidential campaign; and the Kermit Roosevelt Memorial Fund and memorial at Fort Richardson, Alaska.
