Various papers related to the workings of the observatory over its 150 years of operation. B. Materials relating to important topics and events, such as the establishment of the Royal Observatory, Cape of Good Hope; returns of Halley's comet 1835 and 1910; extension of the Abbi de La Caille's arc of the meridian; work on the Carte du Ciel and publication of the Cape Astrographic Catalogue; Gill's determination of the solar parallax from observations of minor planets; Jones's determination of the solar parallax from observations of Eros; publication of the Cape Photographic Cartalogue for the epoch 1950.0; creation of the South African Astronomical Observatory.
