This collection includes the correspondence from Frank Kajewski to Alfred Rehder, who was curator of the Arnold Arboretum at the time as well as several other men involved remotely in supporting Kajewski. Also included are Rehder's responses, typed on the back of Kajewski's letters. In addition, there are also letters between L.J. Brass and Kajewski after Brass replaced Kajewski as the collector for the Arnold Arboretum. The letters span four years, from 1928-1932. In addition to the correspondence, this collection includes black and white photographs which were taken by Kajewski and L.J. Brass of botanical specimens as well as native people and structures on the islands. These photos range from 1930-1933.
