Abstract:

This collection about Professor Colin Roderick includes letters from Roderick to Keith Stewart discussing Roderick's book reviews, writings, negotiations with publishers, lectures, membership of the Masonic Lodge, his health and travels. Includes details of Roderick and Stewart's membership of Sydney University's Kabeiroi. There are newspaper cuttings about Mabo, Miska Hausa, the Miles Franklin awards, and orbituaries of Henry Louis McLoskey and V.H. Tozer. Includes a photograph of Roderick in Salzburg, in October 1987. Roderick worked in editing and managerial roles at Angus & Robertson between 1945-1965 and was the Foundation Professor of English at James Cook University, North Queensland; visiting Professor at European Universities (1973, 1975 and 1977; and a judge of the Miles Franklin award (1957-1991).
