This is a story about two girls who are actually the same person but live in parallel universes. Abby Barnes is a girl with a plan; higher education then onto an important career. Suddenly, she finds herself in a strange place surrounded by strangers who claim to know her.  Although I liked the author’s voice in Parallel, it was very down to earth and relatable to an older high school age student; this book didn't work for me.  It’s not that it’s a bad book, just not my cup of tea. I found it a bit confusing trying to keep up with which girl was which.  I would recommend this book for people who enjoy science fiction type novels. It would also appeal to the lovers of the fantasy genre who don’t mind flipping back a couple pages every once in a while to make sure they know what universe they are currently in.
