A compelling emotional read

At first glance, the story, to me is unappealing - a straight forward love story from the point of view of Hemingways first wife set mostly in 1920's Paris. However I found the novel to be astonishingly well written, with a flowing appealing narrative style. Maclain's use of sybolism...
