The characters in the book are very vivid and the reader gets a sense of who they are. The characters in the book are very vivid and the reader gets a sense of who they are. Because of the narration and decsription in the book the reader can visualize both the characters and the setting of the book. The main character Dave Robicheaux is a less than perfect person and Mr. Burke does an excellent job of portraying this character.
