The collection includes correspondence with her family, neighbors, friends, and associates. Among the friends are some who were famous, among them the painter Max Ernst (with whom she was intimately acquainted) and the stage designer Caspar Neher. Some are both friends and associates, for example David Drew, with whom she collected the biographical information. Some of the letters represent responses to her requests for such information. Although there are a few letters and postcards dating from the 1920's and 1930's, most of the correspondence dates from the years following Weill's death. Major correspondents, other than those already mentioned, include: Mary Daniel, George Davis, Maria Hubek (her sister), Anna Krebs, Ted Mitchell, Ronald Sanders, and Gottfried Wagner. (For her correspondence with Brecht and Hauptmann, cf. Ser.30/1/2.).
For Lenya's business correspondence, cf. Ser.42; for her papers, cf. Ser.35.
