Abstract:

Profiles three of the top ten finalists for the title of the Greatest Canadian. Pierre Trudeau was Prime Minister of Canada for almost 16 years. He worked to create a "just" Canada (Charter of Rights), to promote bilingualism, and stamp out separatism. His government repatriated the constitution. David Suzuki, geneticist, broadcastor, author and passionate environmentalist, has educated two generations of Canadians about the wonders and destruction of nature. Alexander Graham Bell, the inventor of the telephone and several other key inventions still important in today's technology, was also a teacher and advocate for the deaf.
