Did this book have an editor?  While the book contained a few interesting facts and anecdotes, they were adrift within a meandering narrative and distracting grammatical/usage errors.  More data would have done better justice to the residential education facility movement; surely these organizations have data to share about their students' successes.  I think the story of this movement to improve the lives of children needs to be told, but outside the personal memoir format that swallows it here.  Electronic references were also frustratingly omitted or unreliable, including the author's own website.
