Commercials. Westinghouse. Architect-designed Westinghouse Total Electric Gold Medallion home, Canton, Ohio. Jack Morse and Betty Furness.
Lyndon B. Johnson's vice-presidential acceptance speech is intercut with shots of the Coliseum, the crowds, and Rose Kennedy, seated next to her son John. LeRoy Collins, governor of Florida, makes a few remarks, introduces Kennedy's family, and the next speaker, Adlai Stevenson. Stevenson speaks, then introduces Kennedy. Kennedy makes his acceptance speech. Governor Collins then introduces Elder Leo J. Mueller (?) of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, who pronounces the Benediction. After the National Anthem, Governor Collins adjourns the convention. Walter Cronkite, Edward R. Murrow, Al Kendrick, and Howard K. Smith discuss "interesting aspects" of, and the significance of, Kennedy's speech. Cronkite briefly interviews the three Westinghouse spokespersons, Betty Furness, Babby? (possibly Betty Furness' daughter, Barbara Sturtevant Furness Snyder), and Fred Davis.
