The author of this publication (Thomas Parson), was a very well known and respected dance educator of the period. He was the writer for Dance Magazine's ballroom articles for many years, as well as judge, and prominent member of several dance unions. He was much less bias than his contemporaries and often spoke out against industry trends in standardization and suppression of youth social dance trends. This particular publication is an excellent resource for Fox Trot, Shag, Collegiate, and Big Apple material. While this booklet is small the content is mighty. I highly recommend it to fellow historians, researches, and collectors.
