Abstract:

A declaration of the purpose of the Woman's Peace Party. The platform calls for: neutral countries to call a convention to halt World War I; limitation of armaments and the removal of armament manufacture from the private sector; the extension of suffrage to women; and the "removal of the economic causes of war." The leaflet prints the officers and the Co-operating Council which include a number of prominent suffragists: Jane Addams (chair), Fanny Garrison Villard, Sophonisba Breckinridge, Carrie Chapman Catt, Kate Waller Barrett, May Wright Sewall, and Dr. Anna Howard Shaw, among others. The "Rules Governing Organization" are stated and a "Plan of Work and Chairmen of the the National Committee" laid out. The party intends to lobby Congress, to hold mass meetings, and under the direction of Zona Gale conduct a press campaign. The leaflet also provides an application blank for membership.
