Abstract:

There have been a few recent changes in the Evening Dispatch newsroom Patricia has left Edinburgh and is now in London working on a famous woman's magazine, but pining for her fiance, the contemptuous Hugh Malling. A new recruit, Charles Rutland, has arrived in the newsroom, and Rosa finds herself having to compete with him for the title of the Dispatch's most ambitious journo. When Charles manages to find scoops all over the city in the most mundane of situations, Rosa's not the only one to be suspicious of his talents. Howerer, when Patricia has a fatal fall, Charles and Rosa must join up their investigative skills to uncover the full truth behind the accident.
