Abstract:

Each week, Resource Review experts recommend top resources which are put to the test, giving teachers the ability to make informed decisions regarding the most effective resources ranging from the best publications to the most applicable pieces of software. Roger Frost, science curriculum advisor and educational writer for the TES, introduces three new resources for primary science, Science Mania CD-ROM from Topologika, Ask Oscar from Kudlian and Junior Simulation Insight from Logotron. Ian Sillett, principal advisor at London Metropolitan University's IT Learning Exchange, puts the IT software Science Mania and the data handling software Ask Oscar, to the test. Presenter Hermione Cockburn discusses the results and the resources with expert Roger Frost, Adrian Fenton, Curriculum Support Manager for the Association for Science Education and Adrienne Jones, a freelance education consultant.
