An easy chapter book for those emergent readers. Even though the book is about first grade jitters, first graders may struggle reading it independently. Posey is uneasy about becoming a "big" girl as a first grader. She knows that she will have to become more independent like walking to/from school by herself. Posey doesn't want new clothes for school, but wants to wear her well-loved tutu. She shares this great idea with her teacher and her teacher agrees, hence the "first grade parade." This is a great book for the beginning of the school year and fits well as a read aloud.
