Abstract:

The Lost World: Professor Challenger leads a team deep into Amazon to a plateau where they find living dinosaurs and other prehistoric forms of life.

The Poison Belt: Professor Challenger gathers his team of friends from the Lost World expedition (Ed Malone, Lord John Roxton, and Professor Summerlee) to the safety of a room in his house when the earth passes through a belt of poisonous ether that ends all human and animal life in the world.

The Land of Mist: Ed Malone and Enid Challenger, the professor's daughter, investigate the Spiritualist Church. The professor, however, dismisses spiritualism as lunacy.

The Disintegration Machine: Challenger and Malone visit Dr. Nemor, who has constructed a machine that disintegrates and reintegrates people and things. His intention is to sell it for military use.

When the World Screamed: Challenger believes that the earth is actually a living organism that is unaware of the life that exists on its outer crust. He assembles a team to drill eight miles into the ground to verify his theory.
