Abstract:

In 2008, defensive lineman Sidell Corley was a blue-chip phenom out of Mobile's McGill-Toolen High School. Every major college in the nation recruited him, from Alabama to Auburn, from Notre Dame to Florida. During the process, his family was offered gifts, 50,000 in cash and jobs from boosters amid the frenzy. In the end, Sidell chose LSU and believed he was on his way to the NFL. But in May 2009, he received a phone call at his LSU dorm that changed everything: His mother had been murdered. The Prospect takes viewers through the heart-breaking "” and uplifting "” story of a star who left the game out of grief but found another career that will honor his mother and, perhaps, lead him back to the NFL dream he once had.
