Summary:
Recommends that NASA conduct a systematic assessment of the survivability of the shuttle with respect to the hazard of meteoroid and orbital debris. Further recommends that NASA continue to assess the vulnerability of areas of the shuttle most likely to incur damage, and to determine which areas require more protection and whether operational and procedural modifications can decrease the risk.
