Edition case binding of blue rib grain cloth. Upper cover has title, illustrator and illustration blocked in gold panel stamp. Both covers have plain blind blocked border.
Illustrated with line photoengraved reproductions of original engravings and etchings.
Initialled in ink "AR" (ie. Anne Renier) on lower flyleaf.
Ownership inscription on upper flyleaf reads: "L. Nyburg."
Title page and text pages with plain border.
Description: 94 pages, [24] leaves of plates : illustrations ; 19 cm
Responsibility: designed and engraved by George Cruikshank, and other plates ; accompanied by the dialogue of the puppet-show, an account of its origin, and of puppet plays in England.
