Abstract:

Members of the American Theater Laboratory perform a series of improvisational exercises in which one member acts as the master controlling another as the puppet. Four exercises, each with a different pair of actors, are performed. In the first exercise Monte is the master and Martin the puppet; in the second exercise Martin is the master and Monte the puppet; in the third exercise Fields is the master and Primus is the puppet; in the fourth exercise Costello is the master and Tristan is the puppet. There are breaks in the recording between exercises. Sound and picture quality are both poor.
