The edition referred to is that of Johnson and Steevens, revised by Isaac Reed, 1785.
There are at least two states of this edition known to exist. In state A, last word in "Errata" is "romances", and last word of text on p. 28 is "himself!" In state B, leaf A̲4 is a cancel, with footnote on p. vii changed to modify "infamous scoundrel" phrase, and last word in "Errata" to read "vol. iv"; leaf E2 is a cancel and last word of text on p. 28 is "proposed". Some copies contain an additonal unpaginated final leaf, signed F, which is a review of Tickell's poem, Kensington Garden. Cf. ESTC.
HRC copy 1 is state A without the additional leaf at end; copy 2 is state A with the additional leaf.
描述: vii, [1], 32 p. ; 23 cm. (8vo in 4s)
