Abstract:

Travel the world and through time to see how these creatures live side-by-side with man. The mere thought of them sends shivers up the spine as they scurry in the dark and in our imaginations. Through the ages, we've feared them and worshipped them ... and they couldn't care less. Rats have lived side by side with humans since the very beginning. Bats, with their strange, leathery wings and nocturnal habits, were among the most feared animals in early Europe. And with some 30 million species of bugs on the planet, it's worth wondering whether man really is the dominant animal.
