Abstract:
At the turn of the century, the ubiquitous Buffalo Harbor water taxi transported people and cargo back and forth in Buffalo's bustling Great Lakes harbor. None of these boats survived to the present day. Boatbuilders at Buffalo State College's Center for Watercraft Studies used historic photographs to recreate a set of plans for the boat and constructed a replica. Also shown is an overview of the boat building program at Buffalo State College. Featured are BSC professors Bill Nartoo, Dick Butz and John Montaque.
