Constitution and bylaws; minutes of the board, managers, and the Auxiliary (organized ca. 1964); correspondence of directors, managers, conductors, and composers; concert programs; records of celebrations and special events; information pertaining to proposals for a new symphony hall and the purchase of a condominium to be used for offices; administrative records including labor contracts and personnel papers; press releases and photos; and scrapbooks and other materials relating to the history and administration of the orchestra. Includes history of New Haven Symphony Orchestra Association (1831-1979); biography and other papers concerning founder Morris Steinert; agreements with New Haven Junior Chamber of Commerce; and newsletters and other records of NHSO Auxiliary.
