Abstract:

Daybooks (1838-1896) and ledgers (1839-1846 and 1860-1915). Accounts for the Mordecai Lincoln family of Hancock County are included. Store operations under the ownership of C.C. Tyler are documented by a complete set of daybooks from 1865 to 1896 and by a complete set of ledgers, dating from 1865 to 1915. McClaughry and Tyler store records (1860-1865) include an invoice book in addition to daybooks and a ledger. Documentation for the operations of the Matthew McClaughry store is incomplete: the records date primarily from 1838/1839 to 1845, and there are no records prior to 1838, from 1846 through 1849, and from 1857 through 1859.
