Correspondence (1935-1956), reports, press releases (1935-1950), scrapbooks, telegrams, biographies and photos of Mandate leaders, radio publicity, Mandate literature, and press clippings. Chiefly correspondence to individuals active in the Mandate effort with records divided into series for organizational materials, general correspondence, and Latin American correspondence (mostly in Spanish); together with later correspondence of Mabel Vernon (to 1972), director of the Mandate. Persons represented include members of the Peoples Mandate Committee for the Western Hemisphere: Grace Abbott, Carrie Chapman Catt, Dorothy Canfield Fisher, Hannah Clothier Hull, Ellen F. Pendleton, Mary Hill Swope, Mabel Vernon, Lillian D. Wald, and Mary Emma Woolley.
