Chiefly personal correspondence of Tapping Reeve (1744-1823), jurist, of Litchfield, Conn., his wives, Sarah (Burr) Reeve (1754-1797; known as Sally) and Elizabeth (Thompson) Reeve (1774-1842), son, Aaron Burr Reeve (1780-1809), grandson, Tapping Burr Reeve (1809-1829), and brother-in-law, Aaron Burr (1756-1836); together with will and probate records of Amelia Ogden (1779-1866); a sermon delivered by Lyman Beecher at the funeral of Tapping Reeve; bills; receipts; and other family papers. Other persons represented include Theodosia Burr (1746-1794) and John Cotton Smith (1765-1845).
