Abstract:
The purpose of this book is to focus on current reference service practices, policies, and procedures in order to identify problems, deficiencies, and barriers. A view of reference activity in urban, suburban, and rural public libraries, and school library media centers, is provided, as are suggested guidelines for and alternative approaches to the improvement of the way the reference and information needs of children and young adults are met.
