Recorded at the Acton Institute's Fourth Annual Dinner on May 5, 1994, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Justice Clarence Thomas of the United States Supreme Court delivered the keynote address which focused on the importance of morality and religion in a free society. Justice Thomas was introduced by Mrs. Heather Richardson Higgins of the Council on Culture and Community. U.S. MAgistrate Judge Joseph Scoville participated as Master of Ceremonies, Rabbi Daniel Lapin, founder of Toward Tradition, delivered the Invocation and Dr. Edward Dobson of Calvary Church in Grand Rapids gave the Benediction. Also on the program was Sr. Connie Driscoll of St. Martin de Porres House of Hope in Chicago, who spoke about the welfare state and its inability to help the needy. Additional remarks were made by Seminarian Paul Mastin and Rev. Robert Sirico, Acton Institute President.
