|Notes:||The work named in the title, a florilegium in one alphabet, is wrongly attributed in its introductory paragraph to Venerable Bede. It has brief commentaries after each of the ca. 1100 quotations (translated into Latin) and is followed (leaves kij-n8) by a set of longer selections from Cicero, with an afterword by Petrus Tanhauser addressed to his patron Sebaldus Schreier. The set of quotations from Cicero has the caption title: Marci Tullij Ciceronis ciuis Romani clarissimi ac eloquentie genitoris facundissimi auctoritates p[ro] virtutu[m] capessendaru[m] vberiori lege.
