The letters describe some of Middleton's literary publishing efforts, as well as documenting his mood swings during the last four years of his life. There are several letters sent from Brussels, site of Middleton's suicide. The letters are annotated by John Gawsworth, the editor of several Middleton works, and there is also a Gawsworth holograph manuscript which appears to be a draftof a proposed publication of Middleton's letters to Savage.
