Abstract:
During the Napoleonic wars in France, the Count of St. Ives, a French nobleman, is taken prisoner by the British and taken to a prison in Scotland. Thinking that his entire family was murdered during the uprising, St. Ives finds that his brother and grandfather are still alive. His grandfather finds out St. Ives is alive. St. Ives escapes from prison and his grandfather proclaims his entire estate and fortune to St. Ives. But St. Ives's brother has other ideas. In the meantime St. Ives falls in love.
