When I read the New York Times review of this, I wasn't sure I'd like it. But one of my book group friends suggestd we read it, and I was swept away by the story and impressed by the author's craft.

Captivating

I found the book to be very insightful.  If you really pay attention to the "between the lines" of 5 year old Jack's perspective, there's more to this novel than some critics are saying.
