One of his best!

de tjdickey (Utilisateur de WorldCat. Publication 2007-10-17) Excellent Permalien
Le Carre is not just a spy writer, he is a phenomenal storyteller who happens to write about people involved in espionage. This is a poignant love story, set in Russia and England just at the end of the Cold War, and it is probably the most uplifting piece of work this author has ever written.
