Correspondence makes up about 85% of the collection and includes correspondence related to the Royal Coal and Coke Company of Coal Creek, TN, of which Mordecai was president of in the late 19th century as well as correspondence from Trinity College President William Few and administrator William Wannamaker and Louis Wilson, Librarian of the University of North Carolina.
