Summary:
Blackie Norton, owner of a cabaret in San Francisco's Barbary Coast district, hires small-town Mary Blake as a singer. They fall in love. When Mary moves from cabaret to opera house, Blackie is outraged. Mary then becomes engaged to Nob Hill aristocrat Jack Burley. The 1906 earthquake and fire strike, Burley is killed, Blackie finds belief in God, and Mary and Blackie are reunited.
