While dinosaurs ruled the land, marine reptiles and prehistoric sharks donimated in Earth's primordial seas. Swimming among them were the massive 26 foot long Ichthyosaurs and the graceful, long-necked Elasmosaur which weighed up to five tons. Other sail-backed creatures such as the vicious Dimetrodon, a lumbering bent-legged beast, straddled the line between reptile and mammal. While some of these proto-mammals established themselves on land, others returned to their watery ancestral home, becoming the "sea monsters" of today.
